Steven Michael Yates, 60, of Coalmont passed away on March 12, 2025, at his residence.  He was born in Linton on March 4, 1965, to Ruth Yates and Howard Yates.  Steve worked at a tree nursery digging trees for 10 years.  Steve also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on many different things.

Survivors include daughter, Ashley Norris, and son, Perry (Krystal) Walton.  One granddaughter and one grandson.  Several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  His survivors also include brothers, Lowell Yates, Phillip (Julie) Yates of Coalmont, Sister, Teresa (Brett) Keller of Jasonville, half brothers, Drew Sluder of Terre Haute and Dewey Sluder of Terre Haute.

He was preceded in death by his parents Howard Yates and Ruth Sluder.  Stepmom Debbie Yates, nephew John David, sister, Debbie Goble.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen with no services scheduled.
