Susan Jane Brown, 69, of Carlisle, IN passed away peacefully at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, IN on July 5, 2024.  Susan's daughter, Jessica Bailey, was able to be with her on the day of her passing.  Jessica would like to express her gratitude to the compassionate care team at Eskenazi Hospital that went above and beyond for her mother.  Susan was born on July 20, 1954 in Vincennes, IN to Wayne and Fern Thacker.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Danny Donovan; her parents; brother Randy Thacker.  Susan was a graduate of the Sullivan High School Class of 1972.  Susan also obtained her associates degree in nursing at Vincennes University in 1995.  Survivors include her son Jason Donovan of Carlisle, IN; daughter Jessica of Carlisle, IN; brother Jimmy Thacker of Greensburg, IN; two grandchildren Nathaniel Phegley and Josie Donovan.  Susan worked as a registered nurse since 1995.  She devoted her nursing career caring for the elderly in the long term setting.  She was a compassionate, caring nurse.  Susan spent her life being devoted to her family.  She enjoyed cooking, caring for her home, planting flowers, and spending time with her family.  Susan's wishes were to be cremated.  A celebration of life will be held at the Carlisle Community Center in Carlisle, IN on July 20, 2024 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM.  Arrangements were entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home in Terre Haute, IN.
