Susan Dene Fort, 57, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. She passed away peacefully, in the presence of family and the Lord. Susan was born October 30, 1965, to James Edward "PopsEd" and Rita (Simpson) Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Neil Walker, sister Kelly Walker, and nephew Christopher Walker. Susan was a lovely, fun person who enjoyed listening to music and watching funny movies where she would quote scene after scene. Susan loved her plants and garden, and spending time with her family where they would just sit and laugh telling funny stories all day. She loved working as a teacher with special needs children for over 20 years. Susan was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Susan leaves behind her loving husband Eric Charles Fort for 15 years, her sons Michael R. Maxwell II "Bubba", Joshua Maxwell, and Daneil Maxwell (Jasmine), Aunt Helen Simpson and special nephew Jonathan Walker (JoJo). Grandchildren Madasyn Maxwell, Manhattan Maxwell, Monroe Maxwell, Joshua Maxwell II, Dan'yiel Louise Maxwell and Chevelle Delphine Maxwell, and a host of family, friends, and former co-workers.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church located at 2367 7th Avenue, Terre Haute.  Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Russell officiation. Burial will follow at Stewart Lawn Cemetery (Lost Creek Baptist Church).
