Sylvia Jane Mason, 82, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday January 14, 2017 in Springhill Village. She had worked from 1955-1976 for Bowsher Insurance and later Forrest Sherer Insurance. Sylvia was born January 12, 1935 in Paris, IL to John T. Watson and Bernice F. (Fultz) Watson. She is survived by her husband, Paul R. Mason, whom she married July 10, 1976. She was a member of the Montrose Church which later merged and became Memorial United Methodist Church, where she maintained her member ship for many years and sang in the choir at both Montrose and Memorial United Methodist. She was a 1953 graduate of Wiley High School and a 1954 graduate of Terre Haute Business College. She also had worked at the Presbyterian church on Wabash Avenue for several years as church secretary. Sylvia was a member of the Rose Hulman Facility Wives Club and had been secretary in the late 70's and early 80's. Visitation will be Wednesday January 18, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM in Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. with graveside services to follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Roselawn Memorial Park with Reverend Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will then follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
