Tawana Minon Tryon Whitesides (Lil T) was born on June 5, 1981, to Tawana LaTanga Whitesides (Hatfield) and Gilbert Ray Whitesides. She attended Vigo County Schools and accepted Christ in her life at a young age at Calvary Baptist Church.
Tawana went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Majestic Care Nursing Facility surrounded by family, at the young age of 42. She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Ray Whitesides and her sister Shamaine Faison (Bella).
Tawana was known for her beautiful smile and long beautiful hair. She loved music, to dance, and spending time with family, especially her children. Tawana was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at a young age and spent her 20's, 30's, and early 40's in a nursing facility with loving staff caring for her.
Tawana leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Rayne Whitesides, LaHanna Tryon, James Tryon, Jr., and La'Jade Tryon; three siblings, Dita Whitesides (Adaryl, Sr.), Kizzey Stewart (Michael), Marcus Davis, Sr. (Nichole), her mother Tawana Hatfield (Rod), nephews and nieces, Michael Ghant, Jr. (Leaha), Elijah Ghant, Kydaisha Ghant, Malachi Foster, Marcus Davis, Jr., Shanice Harlan, and Adaryl Cunningham, Jr., as well as a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at Shiloh Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. Service will begin at the church at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Russell will officiate. Cremation will follow services.
