Tommy Tompkins, 58, passed away August 27, 2023. He was affectionately known as "Big Daddy." Tommy was born on December 21, 1964 in Terre Haute to Aaron J. Tompkins and Sophia G. (Acuff) Tompkins. He was a 1983 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School. He worked as an assistant foreman for the Terre Haute Wastewater Treatment Plant for 29 years.

He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Faith Church. Tommy enjoyed hunting, bowling, and dancing. He loved watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, he loved living life and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his life-partner of 40 years Deidra Wiley, daughters Brandi Tompkins and Brelyn Tompkins, brothers Orville Tompkins, Benjamin Tompkins, Gary Tompkins, and Leonard Tompkins; special sister Yvette Waller, grandchildren Kamden James Tyson and London Marie Cook, special friends Juan Bullock, Edward Strong, and LaTonya Cooley; and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by both of his parents and brother Aaron Tompkins Jr.
