Virginia Simpson-Washburn, 84, of Terre Haute passed away February 5, 2019 at her home.  She was born on December 20, 1934 to Maurice Gibbs and Olive Louis (Whitaker) Gibbs.  She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband William Dennis Simpson as well as her husband later in life Wayne Leon Washburn; Sister Patsy King (Donald) of Greencastle, as well as a grandson Jeffery Simpson of Denver, CO.  Virginia is survived by her daughters Deborah Brown (William) of Clinton and Julia McFarland (Philip) of Rockville; Son William J. Simpson; granddaughters Megan King (David) of Brownsburg and Jennilee McFarland (Robert Eberhardt) as well as her great-grandchildren Isabella King and Gabriel King. Virginia graduated from Bainbridge High School. She retired from J.C. Pennys after 30 years working as a floor supervisor.  She was a member of Union Christian Church in Terre Haute and The Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors.  Virginia was a devoted wife and loving mother.  Visitation for Virginia will be held at Samaritan Funeral Home on 2425 Wabash Ave on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 11-1:00 with services starting at 1:00 PM.
