William M. Lutes was born in Terre Haute, IN, November 2, 1936 to John H. Lutes and Sarah Beatrice Lutes. Upon his high school graduation from Terre Haute Tech, he joined the United States Marine Corp. Upon his honorable discharge, he married Deanna (Kay) Barton also of Terre Haute Indiana. He began his career with Anaconda Aluminum, Terre Haute in 1963 and retired from ARCO, Anchorage, AK. In 1995. He called Houston, TX home since 1996 where he and Kay moved to start a business.

Survivors include his wife Kay, daughters Lee Ann Villarruel, Kelly Harpold (Ronald K), Julie Goodspeed (Robert J.P.), Grandchildren; Cory Michael Harpold, age 25, Zoe Mae Harpold, age 21, Benjamin Andrew Harpold, age 18, Jacob Nathaniel Goodspeed, age 27, John Clayton Goodspeed age 24.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Seth Nathan Villarruel.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 3:00 until 6:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home with funeral services on Monday February 18, 2019 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor David Rockhill officiating.
