Obituary

William R. "Bill" Williams, 90 of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Springhill Village. He was born in Vigo County on July 9, 1925 to Wilburn W. Williams and Marie Martin Williams. William is survived by his wife Marilyn Williams, son Brent Williams (wife Marlys), and grandson, Ely Williams. Also surviving is his brother, Richard Williams (wife Lydia), sisters-in-law Jeanette Williams, Joanna Wright (husband Loren), and Betty Summerlot and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilburn and Marie, as well as a brother, Wayne Williams. William was an Army Veteran, serving in WW II and was an X-ray Technician at Terre Haute Regional Hospital for 35 years. His memberships include Riley United Methodist Church, and being a life member of VFW Post # 972. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Linton Township, Pimento and Riley Volunteer Fire Departments and was a X-ray Technician for many years at the Indianapolis 500, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing, pitching horseshoes, was a Larry Bird fan, and enjoyed football and NASCAR as well as listening to his police scanner. Funeral services will be held at Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave., on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Ron Hodge officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Mausoleum. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 12 Noon - 2:00 PM at Samaritan Funeral Home.
