Alan E. Redman Obituary

Alan E. Redman, 83, of Terre Haute passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, surrounded by his family.  He was born September 5, 1941, in East Chicago, Illinois to James J. Redman and Vivian J. Mueller Redman.  Alan served his country in the Army National Guard.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Marine Corps League of Terre Haute, and the American Legion Post #346.  Alan raced sprint cars and was an avid sports fan watching anything that included a ball.  He was so proud of his grandsons and religiously followed their travel sports and attended their games.  Alan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. 


He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Becky, daughter Susan (Thad), grandsons Ryan and Braden, special nephew Rod (Laura), sisters Susie Yoke and Donna Charles (John), beloved friends Rick and Carol, his lunch crew and their spouses, as well as several nieces and nephews. Alan was preceded in death by his parents.


The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to VNA Hospice, especially Dana for the love and care given to Alan and the family. Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in remembrance of Alan may be made to VNA Hospice or the St. Mary’s Men’s Basketball Program.  A Celebration of Life will be held at American Legion post 104 on January 12, 2025 at 1:00pm.
