Anthony Basile, age 54, of Terre Haute, IN passed away on December 27, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with metastatic melanoma. Anthony (Tony) was born March 28,1970 in Rutherford, New Jersey to Gabriel and Nella (Orecchio) Basile.

He married the love of his life, Katrina (House) Basile on August 12, 1989 and had four wonderful sons, Anthony Jr, Nicholas, Michael, and Joseph.

Anthony was a graduate of Rutherford High School in New Jersey. He joined the Air Force soon after where he met his beautiful wife through her brother, Tim House. He was a Driver for Republic Services until the time of his diagnosis and a proud member of the Teamsters Union. He was a devoted husband, father, son, papa and friend to many. To know him was to love him. Anthony had an infectious smile and laugh and made everyone feel like they were family. He loved to spend time with his family and go back to see his family in New Jersey any opportunity he had. Anthony also loved to go mushroom hunting and looked forward to this every Spring.

Anthony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfredo and Ippolita Orecchio, Anthony and Raphaela Basile. His father-in-law and mother In-law, John and Jean House, brothers in-law, John House, Jr. and Tim House, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Anthony is survived by his wonderful  parents, Gabriel and Nella Basile, his loving wife of 35 years, Katrina (House) Basile, four sons, Anthony Basile JR (Jessica), Nicholas Basile, Michael Basile, Joseph Basile, two granddaughters, Isabella Basile, Jaesa Joseph, a great niece and two great nephews who he thought of as his own grandchildren, Ari, Kylen, Kaidre, a sister, Rosanne Basile, brother in-law, Brad House (Courtney), nieces, Erin House, Ashley House, Allyson (House) Sumansky, Jocelyn House, Alia Ramahi, nephews Ryan House, Caleb House, Elijah House, and Colton House. Many aunts, uncles and cousins in New Jersey and  Indiana. Also, a very special cousin who he had a close bond with, Treesh Ramsthaler.

Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Samaritan Funeral Home located at 2425 Wabash Ave, Terre Haute, with visitation from 11:00am - 1:00pm.  Services will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow at Durham Cemetery. There will also be a celebration of life following burial with location announced at time of services.
