Ashley Marie Hood, of Seelyville, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 31st, 2021. Ashley was a 2002 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School, and majored in radio, tv, and film at ISU. Ashley is preceded in death by her mother, Cindy Taylor, step father Jerry Taylor, and grandmother Zora Lee Hood. Ashley is survived by father Gregory Cesinger, grandmother Betty Cesinger, and while she may have been an only child, that just meant she got to choose her siblings, including sister Elizabeth “Leeb” Christjansen, Vanceletta “VJ” Colclasure, Cassandra Brumfield, and Stephanie Tallon. Ashley is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Ashley was a published author, having two books published by Arcadia Publishing. She was working on her third book at the time of her passing. Her true passion was ghost hunting and paranormal activity. Some of her favorite activities were ghost hunting, exploring cemeteries and haunted places. Ashley also loved a good road trip, with her favorite places to visit being Point Pleasant, West Virginia, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Waverly Hills Sanitarium.
Ashley was also an avid animal lover, as anyone who knew her could attest. She spent her days surrounded by her plethora of critters. She especially adored her miniature dachshund Penny Lane and her Manx cat Waverly.
Services will be held at Samaritan Funeral Home on April 8th from 4pm to 8pm
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
