Barbara Jean (Carlin) Mathews, 71, of Lewis, Indiana passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, December 12, 2025.  She was born to Jesse Carlin and Ruby (Welch) Carlin on July 6, 1954.  Barbara worked as a cook and enjoyed every moment of it.  She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and listening to music.  Barbara could often be found sitting on her front porch.

Barbara is preceded in death by both of her parents.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Carla Webster (Ronnie), Amanda Certain (Marty), Tenessa Cather (Jerry); brothers Bill Carlin and Steve Carlin (Mae); sister Alberta Davison (Alvin); grandchildren Holly Lewis, Ricky Lewis, Jordyn Cather, Bryonna Cather, Candan Cather; and 3 great-grandchildren.
