Bonnie R. Washington, 67, of Terre Haute went to be with the Lord on Monday, February17, 2025. She was born on June 7, 1957, in Terre Haute to Clarence Washington and Mamie Matchem Washington. Bonnie worked as a CNA for many years. She loved taking care of people and was very hard-working. After retiring she kept working and recently retired from being a receptionist at Ryves Hall. She was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle Church. Bonnie was known for her cooking. She enjoyed cooking for others and her specialty was baked spaghetti and peach cobbler. Most of all she loved her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Bonnie was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, auntie, and friend. She will be missed by so many.
Bonnie is survived by her children Kamilla DeBow and Robert Gilmore, grandchildren Fawneice Washington, Ansyee Washington, Robert Washington IV, Anyx Washington, and Oaklynn Washington, great grandchildren Jiaire and Jelani, siblings Iona Washington, Michael Washington (Jackie), and Antonious Washington, nieces Donna Towles, Theresa Townsend ,Jachelle Bouey, Ayanna Evans, Elisha Washington, Candice Patterson, Chakita Washington, Ashley Washington, Shatoya Washington, Brittany Washington, Aaliyah Washington, Christine Washington, Dalaysha Washington, Danica Jones, and nephews Dwayne Washington Jr. and Avontai Washington, as well as other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dwayne Washington, and sister Ernestine Williams.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, 1075 North Fruitridge, Terre Haute. Service will begin at the church at 12 noon. Pastor Teddy Hamby will officiate. Cremation will follow services. Samaritan Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangmenets.
