Brook Hatfield, Sr. Obituary

Brook Franklin Hatfield, Sr., 91, was born in Terre Haute on June 23, 1930 to Frank and Edith Hatfield.  He transitioned on Monday, June 28, 2021.

Brook Hatfield was one of fourteen brothers and one sister.  Brook, aka, Sonny to many people who knew him, found God at an early age of sixteen giving himself to God.  He joined Shiloh Baptist Church where he was an usher and served on the Deacon Board for many years, helping to build up the church using his carpentry skills to assist in performing maintenance.

In 1947 he meets the love of his life, Danella Malone, who had moved from Athens, Alabama to Terre Haute.  The two were married on November 3, 1951.

While working at the McCrory’s Five and Dime store, their family started to grow.  Brook took on another job for a couple of years working at the Miller Parrots Bakery.  He then went on to Stran Steel where he worked for thirty years.

But that wasn’t enough for Brook Franklin Hatfield, so he started a general contracting business for another forty years.  Together Brook and Danella were blessed to be able to raise four boys and five girls.  Two children precede him in death, Patricia Ann Bell passed away June 16, 2010 and Brook Franklin Hatfield, Jr. passed away August 21, 2014.

Left to cherish Brook’s memories are Marvin Hatfield (Suzette), Marie Francis Hatfield, Danny Hatfield (Karen), Larry Tremaine Hatfield (Sheila), Judith Dawn Wells (Gary), Reagina Lynn Woods (Robert), Nandus Arletta Miles (Johnny).

Brook F. Hatfield loved his family and most of all his grandkids.  They were so very special to him, left to cherish their grandfather’s memories are twenty-two grandkids, forty-seven great-grandkids, and four great great-grandkids.
