Catherine Lorene Gard

Catherine L. Gard, 74, of West Terre Haute , Indiana passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, September 19th, 2020 at 10:50AM after a long battle with COPD. She was born on August 27th, 1946 to her parents, William Henry White Jr. and Mary Leona Oricks White. 

Catherine married the love of her life on July 13, 1964. They had three children and she dedicated her life to being a devoted wife, caring mother, and loving grandmother. She loved being surrounded by family, talking with friends, celebrating holidays, playing Rummy, and going to Bingo (when she was well and able). Catherine was a very family oriented and spiritual person who had a heart of gold filled with kindness and generosity. 

Catherine leaves behind her three children; William Gard Jr., Mary Gard (fiancé Aden Reel.), and Cathy Barnhart (husband William), also five grandchildren; Laura Pohlen (Fiancé Robert Vaughan), Cassandra Fagg, James Oachs (wife Sky Lynn Oachs), Bailey Barnhart, and Justus Cheesman as well as four great grandchildren; Olivia Katherine Pohlen, Miklyee Vaughan, Chase Vaughan, Sophia Vaughan and Benny Oachs. She is survived by her two sisters; Flora Dickerson (husband Clarence), and Terrie Cooper (husband David Sr.), and one brother, Thomas White Jr. 

Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters; Mary Walden, Nancy White and Leona Maples, and brothers; Timothy Tucker, Edward White, Jack Snow, Roger White, Jimmy White, and William White as well as nieces, Cassandra Dickerson and Jackie Sue Roberts and nephews, Jack Weir and bil Bill White. 

A celebration of life for Catherine will be held on Sunday, October 4th at the Fowler Park Log Barn from 4:00-6:00 PM.  The family would like to give a special thanks for the care given by Heart to Heart Hospice.
