Curt W. Jones

Reverend Curt W. Jones, 57, of Fort Wayne passed away suddenly April 26, 2022. Rev. Curt was the pastor of Poe Christian Church, a retired professor at Ivy Tech, and a former supervisor at DADC. He graduated from Terre Haute North High School. Upon graduation he entered the United States Marine Corps Reserve and earned a Grenada ribbon. He continued to serve the country in the United States Air Force during Desert Storm.

Curt is the son of the late Norman and Edith Jones of Terre Haute, brother of Gary (Susan) Jones of Texas and cousin of Steve and Jennifer Peters. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Barbara Jones, and children Jacqueline (Justin) Sims, Curt (Nancy), David, Jacob (Kristin), Matthew (Christina), Vontrell, Rachelynn, Theresa, Annamaria, and Isaiah Jones. He was proceeded in death by his children Angel, Sanctus, Emanuel, and John Paul. His grandchildren include twins Isabella and Elijah, Lucian, Niklaus, Sophia, Ella, Rosealee, and Damon Sims; Abraham, Adamaris, Maraya, Briggslee, Brantley, and Burkeleigh Jones. 

Curt is a Liberty University alumnus with highest honors. He belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars of Lowell, Indiana and the Knights of Columbus. He loved to volunteer with the Toys for Tots program, yard cleans ups for the elderly, food drives, clothing and schools supplies for chronic and terminally ill children and giving Bibles to all. He enjoyed renovation, computer science and game design, crafting with Isaiah, contemporary Christian concerts, playing guitar, going on road adventures with his family, and ancient ink painting. Visitation will be Thursday May 5, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home with funeral services at 4:00 pm. Burial will be Friday May 6, 2022 at 11:00 am in Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana with military honors. Online condolences may be left at www.samaritanfunerals.com
