Dale Allen Hedden Obituary

Dale Allen Hedden, 67, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born on December 1, 1957, to Herman and Florence (Bemis) Hedden in Terre Haute. Dale married Cathy Barrett on July 27, 2002, and spent nearly 23 years with her.

Dale served in the United States Air Force, working on jets and airplanes, and was a roofer for over 30 years for Union Local #151. If you asked anyone about Dale, they would tell you how great of a man he was and that he was always doing something to help others. He was always telling stories about the good old days. Dale was involved with Club Gobi and Friends of Bill W. He volunteered at the Federal Prison and Vigo County jail, helping inmates try and turn their lives around for the better, and sat on numerous committees for the AA community. Dale also loved to play golf with his buddies Joe, John and Jim Cuffle, or anyone else willing to play. He was a truly genuine and kind man, who will be missed by many.

Dale is survived by his loving wife; daughters Amanda Heilmann (Shaun Hall), Tracy Elleman and Mary Elleman; brothers Terry (Patty) Hedden, Vern (Kathy) Hedden and Tim Hedden; grandchildren Andrew, Dakota and RJ Londo(Madason), Nikki Haraway and Brittaney Dresher; great grandchildren Abael and Raiden Londo and Tedric Dupree Haraway.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Chrissy Hedden (Orville); and brothers Skip and Mike Hedden.

A special message to Dale from his brother Vern:

“Dale was more to me than a brother, he was one of my best friends. I loved him so much and I will always miss him so much.”
