Daniel "Danny" Steven Schell Obituary

Daniel “Danny” Schell, 63, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born to Richard Schell and Shirley (Fields) Martin on July 1, 1962 in Terre Haute.

Danny was a hard worker, he worked in the heating and colling industry, lawn care and landscaping industry, plumbing industry, and also did roofing for much of his career.  Danny enjoyed collecting old money – from old coins to older bills.  Danny was good at fixing many things from cars to lawn mowers and more.  Danny was a selfless person and always willing to help others, no matter the cost.

Danny is survived by sisters, Marsha Slavens, Suzanne (Shank) Closson; sister-in-law, Tammy Schell; many nieces and nephews; cousins; and two special people who referred to him as “Papaw”.

Danny is preceded in death by both of his parents; siblings, Patty Schell, rick Schell, Stacy Schell, Jerry Schell; nephew, JR Slavens; and brother-in-law, Bud Slavens.

The family of Danny would like to express their deepest gratitude to the ladies at the Gibson Hospice Center for the exceptional care that they showed our loved one during his final journey.  Linda and Tabitha were amazing and showed the family lots of love.

Cremation has been entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.samaritanfunerals.com
