Danny Wayne Bledsoe, 76, of Sullivan, was born on March 16, 1948, and was called home to be with the Lord on December 18, 2024. He was the cherished son of Robert Oscar Bledsoe and Norma Ernestine Sparks Bledsoe. On May 12, 1967, Danny married the love of his life, Joyce. Together, they created a loving family, including their beloved daughter, Lora Weaver, and her husband, Mark. Danny's legacy continues through his cherished granddaughters, Ashley Swalls (and her husband, Darrin) and Shelby Tharp (and her husband, William). He was a proud great-grandfather to six precious great-grandchildren: Paisley, Zoey, Berkley, Wesley, Adley, and Lynlee. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Bledsoe.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ernestine and his great-grandchildren, Braxton and Mallory.
A dedicated businessman, Danny's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish several successful ventures, including the Lucky Dollar in Hymera, a Dairy Queen in Rising Sun, a Sunoco in Oaktown, and Molly's Antiques in Farmersburg. His remarkable work ethic was evident in everything he did, and he was known for his unwavering commitment to his work.
Despite facing a difficult battle with glioblastoma, Danny remained strong and courageous. He never complained during his illness and was a beacon of positivity, always wearing a smile and reminding those around him that every day was a good day.
Danny’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and resilience. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Danny’s wish was to not have services, and his family will be honoring that wish. Cremation arrangements are entrusted by Samaritan Funeral Home.
