Dawnella “Dawn” Dru Welch, 60, of Jasonville, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Terre Haute Regional hospital.

She was born July 2, 1965 in Martinsville, IN to Donovan “Don” Ross Housel and Lena Drucilla “Dru” (Foster) Housel.

Dawn had worked at many jobs throughout her life; notable ones include the Greene County General hospital and the Jasonville American Legion of which she was a member. She was a proud mother of James Welch and proud grandmother of Luna Welch. She enjoyed going to church and learning more about Jesus, being outside in nature, spending time with friends and family, driving around looking for yard sales, and stopping at “junk shops.”

Surviving relatives include her partner Gary Murillo of Jasonville, son James (Ali) Welch of Linton, granddaughter Luna Welch of Linton, sister Dara (Tim) Carmichael of Calvertville, brother Donovan Housel of Spencer, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Charles “Chuck” Douglas Housel.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
