Deborah Monser (nee McKechnie) 73, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Deb was born December 19, 1950 in Louisville, KY. The daughter of the late Arthur Karl McKechnie and Helen Schneider McKechnie. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Caroline M. Gilpin.
She was President of NorthStar Computer Consultants Inc. which developed programs for many of the Operating Engineers Locals nationwide. Deb was endlessly involved in her children and grandchildren’s numerous activities. In her leisure, she enjoyed many years of being a coach and mentor. She loved her fishing. She rarely missed a treck to Louisville for the Kentucky Derby celebrations and of course our family poker games. Deb had a big heart, always welcomed anyone in need and loved her family dearly.
Deb is survived by her three children, Cory T. Monser (Elizabeth), Stacy A. Whitacre, and Blake K. Monser (Tina); Sister Karla M. Oost and Brother Arthur “Tip” McKechnie (Andrea); six grandchildren; Marisa Garza (Joey), Laurel, Samantha, Carter, Colton and Avery, as well as a nephew and many nieces.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Michele Redmon, Mary Dinkle, Tracy’s Girls caregivers, Hospice of Wabash Valley, and Trailer Trash Cuisine for all the meals and all who have provided such wonderful loving support this past year.
Per Deb’s request, there will be no funeral services or visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Vigo County or Sullivan County Humane Society.
