Delilah "Dee" Ann (Tabor) Batchelor

On October 23, 2023, Delilah Ann Batchelor (Dee) got her angel wings and went to walk with the angels. She passed away at 74 with family by her side during a brief hospital stay.

Dee was born on September 4, 1949, in Brazil, Indiana where she lived and worked. She retired from Morris Manufacturing on January 9, 2023, after 22 years of service with them. She took great pride in her work. She was a very dedicated and hard worker. She loved her work family as if they were apart of her own. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors. Nobody was ever a stranger to her. She put everyone’s needs and happiness before her own. She took great pride of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family. She also enjoyed the beach. This was her happy place. She opened her heart and her home to many. She will be forever missed.

Dee is preceded in death by her father Richard Tabor and mother Melba Tabor.

She is survived by her sister Patricia Douglas (Paul), her sons; Steven McMains (Heather) and Michael McMains (Misty); her grandchildren: Stephanie Schopmeyer (Chad), Dakota McMains (Clarissa), Kreedon McMains (friend Aundrey Collins), Kanaan McMains (friend Amanda Callahan), Gavin McMains, Rylan McMains, Akinzey Nugent, Byron Layne (Bella), and Haileigh Layne; her great-grandchildren: Kolton Schopmeyer, Kayson Schopmeyer, Grayson McMains, Lincoln McMains, Aubree Fagg, Carter Fagg, Ryder McMains, Hudson McMains, Houston McMains, Emerson Miller, Ella Layne, Myla Layne, Mayzlee McMains (due February 2024), and Baby McMains (due June 2024); and her bonus great-grandchildren: Ellaouise Eder and Jaxon Amburgey.

Dee never wanted to be the center of attention. Per her wishes, there will be no services. Cremation is entrusted with Samaritan Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kaelber Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for her family will be scheduled at a later date.
