DeLores was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on January 14, 1940 to Rachel and Raymond Tyler (both deceased). She departed this earthly life on July 31 at the age of 80. Most of her life was spent in Indianapolis, Indiana returning to Terre Haute in her later years. DeLores worked in the retail industry for several years, but she found her greatest pride and joy in caring for her lawn and flowers. She is a life-long member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church Family. In 1956 she was united in marriage to James Simpson, and to that union was born 4 children. DeLores leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Simpson Sr, her daughter Angela; 3 sons James Jr, Myles, and Wayne all of Indianapolis; her goddaughter Vickey Underwood, and dearest friend, Wynona Batton, both of Terre Haute. Also mourning her loss are 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She has 4 sisters, Ethel Norton, Diane Bullard, Raylan Dillard all of Terre Haute, Shirlene Noble of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and 2 brothers, Bertie Tyler Sr. and William “Billy” Tyler Sr. both of Terre Haute; two brothers, Lloyd Tyler and James Dillard preceded her in death. She also has several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. DeLores was fondly known as “Miss Dee”, “Moms,” and “Little Lady.” Honoring the final wishes of the deceased, viewing and services for DeLores will both be private.
