Diane R. (Jenkins) Purcell Obituary

Diane Ruth Purcell 78 of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Friday Feb 28th 2025. She was born Diane Ruth Jenkins on Oct 17th 1946 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denver, Colorado to Helen Marie White and Walter Jerry Jenkins Sr. 


She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Purcell, her son Jamie Trout, step-daughter Paige Burdine, Parents Helen Marie Creasey and Walter Gerald Jenkins Sr, and her beloved brother Walter Gerald Jenkins Jr.


Survivors include:  Bonnie Conatser (MOM), Siblings are Butch Marley (Cathy), Charlotte Reyher (Frank), Rossanne Reyher, David Jenkins, Alan Jenkins, Ronnie Jenkins (Yvonne), Julie Cane (Clay), Patty Johnson (Sid), Gale Windle Creasey, Lana Morgan Smith, Jennie Creasey, Cindy Richardson (Doug), Ray Creasey and Monte Creasey,


Diane lived a full loving life. She Graduated high school from Garfield High School in 1964. She has 6 children: Jamie Trout (Mika Yocum), Danielle Trout (Daniel Bedecki), Shawn Paulin (Jessica) and 2 step-daughters Paige Burdine and Brittany Cardona (Luis).


Diane was the best grandmother in the world. But no one dared call her that. She will forever be known as MAM MAM! She is MAM MAM to Grandchildren: Richard Kutch (Ashley), Jamie Denice Poore, Dustin Fox (Jessica), Christina Trout Spivey (Tyler), Nicholas Kutch, William Gresham IV (Samantha), Noah Gresham,  Ian Cardona, Tyler Burdine, Kyle Burdine, Brad Trout, Addison Paulin, Cameron Paulin,  Great Grandchildren: Isabella Kutch, Gabriel Wyndham, Chloe Kutch, Tristan Taylor, Sammy Fox, Noah Fox,Daniel Coley, Daphne Coley, Mia Kutch, Penelope Kutch, Lizah Streeter, and Cason Caldwell.


When she would end a visit with any of her loved ones, she would always say: “Love You, GOTCHA!”


Diane was known for being the best in the business when it came to working in the restaurant industry and operated a successful Day Care from her own home.  Everyone loved her and wanted her to wait on them. She once owned the Joker Tavern in Terre Haute and even when she was not working she would help teach others her secrets like how to correctly pour a drink from a pitcher, and how to make an Alabama Slammer! She was an excellent pool player, and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary along with her Mother, Helen, Her Aunt Rosada Didier and Cousin/Best Friend Bunny.


She will be missed by her many many friends and family members.


The family would like to especially thank all of the staff at Cloverleaf Healthcare for the excellent care, love and friendship given to Diane.


We would also like to thank Hospice of the Wabash Valley for their services at the end of her Journey. We are forever grateful to you all.


Visitation will be Monday March 3, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Hull Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.samaritanfunerals.com
