Donald B Downey, 86, went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2025. Don was born on Christmas Day 1938 in Nortonville, KY. On December 23, 1960 he married Linda Kay Pierce-Downey. They were married for 52 years.

Don was a pastor for many years and retired from Eli Lilly as a computer draftsman. He was always whistling and humming. He loved a good adventure to the woods to hunt for mushrooms. Don and Linda loved going to fireworks shows, auctions, and bluegrass festivals. Don picked up playing the autoharp in his later years. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with them.

Don is preceded in death by his wife Linda Kay Downey. Parents William Boyce Downey and Kathleen Downey-Kirchner. Brothers Dwain Downey and George David Downey.

Survivors include his children Matthew Downey (Jennifer), Rachel Jones (John), Sarah Taylor (Ken). Grandchildren Jami Baker (Kaleb), Lindsey Jones, Mica Young (Kaden), Seth Jones, Hannah Jones, Ryker Taylor, Victoria Taylor, Jimmy Favre (Ryleigh), Kennett Taylor and girlfriend Ashley. Great grandchildren Killian Baker, Lucas and Brynleigh Favre.

Graveside services will be held at Clearview cemetery on Friday June 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Eckiss officiating.  Online condolences may be made at www.samaritanfunerals.com
