Donald Ray Lacey passed away on January 24, 2026 after a lengthy illness.  Don was born in Terre Haute on August 7, 1939 to Lena Ghindes and Rudy (Guy) Lacy.  Don graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1957, where he excelled in basketball.  Don attended Indiana State University and was a member of the United States Army National Guard.  Don was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals and IU fan and loved sports of all kinds.

Don is survived by his daughter, Pamela Decker; sons, Christopher (Amy) Lacey; and Michael Lacey; grandchildren, Carly Decker and Caitlin Braden; and great‑grandchildren, Krue Spears, Giselle Braden and Will Braden; and cousins, Linda (Coy) Treadway and Barbara (Ghindes) Wallace.  Don was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts and uncles, and his cousin, Howard Dardeen.

There will be no public service held.  Please raise a glass in memory of Don and share a favorite memory with friends and family.
