Douglas Wayne Bullock, 71, of Poland, Indiana, passed away at his home in Poland, Indiana on May 4th 2025. Doug was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on July 24th, 1953, the son of Kenneth Beryl Bullock and Sylvia Wells Bullock. Doug attended Mooresville High School. He later worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Heritage Environmental and he retired in 2003 after 20 years of service. For over 55 years Doug repaired cars and motorcycles and especially enjoyed body and paint work. His favorite motorcycle was a 1999 Harley Davidson FXST with Ape Hangers! Doug enjoyed spending time with his friends, either at his home or at a local bar where he would play pool and pick his lottery numbers...and cause a little trouble sometimes. Doug was a very good artist and he was known for his distinctive tattoos, all of which he designed. He loved motorcycles, living in the country, fishing, working on cars, home-canned beets and he appreciated beautiful women. Doug was an excellent cook and his brother says he made the best chili in the world. Doug loved dogs and the boss in his house was his brother’s dog Snoopy. Those two grown men lived to serve that little sweet dog. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Beryl Bullock, mother, Sylvia Bullock, brothers, Charles Eaton, Ray Eaton, Kenneth Lee Bullock and sister, Cheryl Ann Bullock and niece, Cherie J. (Eaton) Klawun. He is survived by his sister, Marsha L. Lopossa, brother, Phillip E. Bullock, daughter, Laci J. Benefiel (Denny), sons, Mark T. Madsen II (Melissa) and Brett W. Bullock, granddaughters, Riley Jane Benefiel, Destiny Benefiel, Brooke Benefiel, grandsons, Mark T. Madsen III, Elijah B. Padgett and S. Tyler Padgett and Deven Bullock.
Doug had many nieces and nephews, one niece, Cheryl J. Ward helped her Beloved Uncle through the last decade of his life after making a promise to her grandma Sylvia, (Doug’s mother) that she would take care of him as long as possible and she worked hard to fulfill that promise.
In lieu of a funeral there will be a Celebration of Life May 31st beginning at 1pm at Cataract Lake Lodge, 4779 State Hwy 42, Cunot, IN 47456. Online condolences may be left at www.samaritanfunerals.com
