Dudley R. “Eric” Carlton, 57, passed away at home February 8, 2026. He was born September 24, 1968, in Gunnison, CO to Glenn and Patricia (McGuire) Carlton.
Eric was an airplane mechanic in the United States Air Force from 1986 until 1995. He served as Avionic System Journeyman, Instument and Flight Control earning rank of Command Chief Master Serteant (E-9), with most of his military career in support of Operation Desert Sheild/Storm. He followed his military career as a construction worker, desk sales personel for Crescent Electric, and dispatcher for TridentCare.
Eric enjoyed playing games with his friends, paintballing, watching movies, listening to music, and especially loved his black labs, Cheyenne and Keara, and later his Newfoundland, Sebastion. He married his wife of 25 years, Janis Brown, on August 30, 1999.
He is survived by his wife Janis, stepson Michael, brother Brian “Carl” Carlton and his wife Mary, sister Shauna Smith and her husband Smitty, and sister Tracy Daniels, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a niece.
