Erin Taylor Boyer, 37, passed away in the loving embrace of her wife, Leslie Boyer, on October 15th, 2024.
Erin’s smile and spirit were contagious. She made people happier wherever she went. Erin loved being around people and helping people. She was a light to many people when things got dark.
Erin graduated from Terre Haute North High School in 2005. She worked hard at every job she had. Her favorite job being at Union Hospital Call Center these last 5 years. She made so many new friends there. It was also there that she had the good fortune to meet her wife.
Erin’s strong personality helped her and all of us to stay positive while she fought cancer, her hardest fight. During her battle she cared for other people, many that she met during treatment. The most important of those to her was Amy Boyer. She was Erin’s Pooh Bear and Erin was her Piglet. They became best friends instantly. Together they could bring excitement and joy to any assembly of people.
Erin loved movie marathons and would gather the kids for movie night or have sleep overs to watch Lord of the Rings or Star Wars. She was always up for a hike, to take the kids swimming or to the park. She loved all the children in her life fiercely. She would protect them from anything, including other people, at any cost. She was first in line at many school events, dance recitals and football games. She was always the one clapping or screaming the loudest in support.
Erin is survived by her wife, Leslie Boyer, her mother Jean Taylor, her three children, Sophira Earl, Anica Hutchison-Taylor, and Kayden Counterman, her sisters, Gina (Sean) Taylor and Ruth Taylor, her brother Andrew Hutchison, as well as 8 nephews, 6 nieces, 3 great nieces, and one great nephew, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Taylor, her sister Kara Taylor, and her grandmother, Geneva Pfaff.
Erin was a warrior. She died in a battle we will never forget. She fought until her last breath when the Valkyries descended and carried her to her true home. Eat, drink, fight. We will all be together again in Valhalla.
