Firman “Joe” Joseph Cordell, 81, passed away on February 17, 2026. He was born on May 29, 1944 in Terre Haute to William G. Cordell and Mary (Davis) Cordell Burris. Joe loved to hunt and fish. He was a hustler, and he also enjoyed setting up at flea markets and the Covered Bridge Festival.  

He is survived by his children William Cordell, Karen Cordell, and Robbie Cordell; sister Lillian Orndorff, grandchildren Will Cordell, Cody Cordell, Ashley Cordell, Jessica Sands, Gage Cordell, Breanna Cordell, and Kelsey Gill; several great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara Cuffle, daughter Dawn Cordell, and siblings Lonnie Cordell, Henry Cordell, Wayne Cordell, and Rosie Howard. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1 pm. Burial to follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.samaritanfunerals.com.
