Gerald "Gary" Deal

Gerald Gene "Gary" Deal, 67, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday February 12, 2025 in his residence. He was a retired sheet metal worker with Sheet Metal Workers Local #20. Gary was born April 17, 1957 in Terre Haute to Paul Robert and Phyllis Jean (Nichols) Deal. He is survived by his son Erik Deal (Cathy Coleman); daughter Alyssa Wathen; brothers Robert Deal (Eileen), Patrick Deal (Diana), and Darryl Deal (Margarita); sisters Cathy Grimes (the late Dennis Grimes), Jennifer Weir (Gary Weir), and Libby Toney (Bill Toney); grandchildren Emily, Logan, Ashlyn, Anthony, and Kiersten; his beloved dogs Daisy and Sparky; and several nieces and nephews. Gary was a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post #104, life member of VFW Post #972, life member of Outdoor Recreation Club, member of the Murdock Auto Racing Club, and a member of the Twelve Points Masonic Lodge #769. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Dennis, and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home, with funeral services starting at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
