Henrietta “Joan” Worley, 90, of Terre Haute went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, December 14, 2024.  She was born April 11, 1934 in Shelburn, Indiana to George W. Reeves and Sadie Linn Reeves.  Joan’s church devotion began with The Church of God in Shelburn.  Later she was a member of the Terre Haute Church of God.  She was very active in the church leading bible studies, mentoring and was a prayer mother to many.

Joan married the love of her life, William “Bill” Worley, on August 3, 1952.  They spent 64 years together before his passing in 2016.  She retired from Merchants National Bank working in the Trust Department. She later worked as a typist and was very skilled.  Joan was able to work part time so she could spend time with her beloved son, Brian.

She always looked forward to getting her hair done on Fridays. Joan had a vivacious sense of humor and loved to pull pranks on people.  She and Bill were avid Cubs fans and enjoyed watching the games together.  Most of all, her family was her greatest treasure.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  Her church family was also very dear to her.

Joan is survived by her daughter in law Danielle Worley, grandchildren Kacie Harkness (Ryan), Justin Worley (Nicole), great-grandchildren Paiton Harkness, Xander Johnson, and Wyatt Johnson, sister Emma Lou Ahlfield, brother-in-law Fred Barron, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends and neighbors Jason and Jenny Oriks.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband William Worley, son Brian Worley, sister Venetta Barron, and brother Donald Reeves.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at Samaritan Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Service will begin at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Co-Chaplain Todd Holler officiating.  Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
