Hilda Evone Freeman (Hawkins), 61, of Terre Haute, Indiana went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.  She was born to Johnny Daryl Hawkins and Jerlene Cherry (York) Hawkins on October 24, 1964 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

Hilda loved being outdoors and was extremely creative.  She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers.  Her greatest joy in life was her daughter, Melissa Davis, whom she loved so much.  Spending time with Melissa and her grandchildren brought Hilda much joy.

Hilda is preceded in death by both of her parents; her late husband, David C. Freemann; brothers Johnny Hawkins, Tommy York, and Perry York; sister Lenicagail Hawkins.

Hilda is survived by her daughter, Melissa Davis (Jordon Bowling); sisters Denise Hoffmann (David) of Lebanon, Tennessee, Tammy Collins (Daryl) of Celina, Tennessee; grandchildren Brayden and Jordon Bowling of Terre Haute, Jace Mercer, Justin, Austin, and Tristin Barnhill, all of Martinsville, Indiana; special friends Lenny & Darla Kernel of Martinsville, Indiana, Michelle Griffin of Spencer, Indiana, Ava Hoffmann of Lebanon, Tennessee; niece Brandy Hawkins Brewer of Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law and BEST friend Deborah Leger of Martinsville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
