Irvin Jack Lowe, 58, of Terre Haute passed away May 10, 2020 from a heart attack at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He was born Jan 22, 1962 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Raymond T. Lowe and Veda Sternburg.
Jack served in the US Army for 17 years.
He currently worked for Dennis Trucking for 18 years and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972.
Jack made Terre Haute his home to be with Dianne Hale Chandler, the love of his life. He gave her the gift of life and donated a kidney to her in 2002 and then went off in 2003 to serve our country in Iraq in the US Army Reserves.
He loved horse racing, horse betting and Bob Baffert. He would study and read about the horses all year to get ready for the Kentucky Derby. He loved to grill at his home, drink Coors Light and listen to the Rolling Stones. He was selfless, courageous, hardworking and heroic.
Jack is survived by his mother, Vada Sternburg; stepdaughter, Lindsay Jones (Andy); brothers, Donald Walton, Johnny Walton, Keith Lowe, Dorman Lowe, Darnell Lowe, Randy Lowe, John Lowe, Robert Lowe, Joseph Sternburg and Timothy Sternburg; sisters, Peggy Ray, Barbara Henderson, Jackie Lowe Willis and Sherry Todd; three grandsons he loved immensely, Indiana, Landon and Chandler Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his father; and love of his life, Dianne Hale Chandler.
There will be a graveside service at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Carlisle followed by a celebration of life on Saturday June 13, 2020 at 11:00 am with the Sullivan American Legion providing military honors.
