James Daniel Wilds

James Daniel Wilds, 17, of Terre Haute left this world too soon on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. He was born on August 4, 2008, in Terre Haute to Jason Wilds and Nina (Davis-Young) Wilds.  James was a very hard worker.  He loved landscaping, helping his grandma with projects at her home, and working at Kroger.  James was very meticulous and took great pride in his work.  He loved riding go-karts, minibikes, four wheelers and anything else that went fast.  His pride and joy were his trucks.  Most of all James was a kind- and big-hearted kid. He always had a smile on his face and waved at those who passed by.  James was a jokester and loved making people laugh. He will be sadly missed by family, friends, and co-workers.

James is survived by his parents, Jason Wilds and Nina (Davis-Young) Wilds, sisters Ella Wilds, Karsee Chenall, and Hailey Cargal, grandmother Tammy Davis-Young, grandfather David Shull, great-grandmother Patty “Mammy” Young, God Parents Larry and Leora Kelshiemer, great uncle Grant Young, great aunt Sandy Maxfield, uncles Travis Shull and Jereriah LaMaster (Codi), cousin Gavin Shull (Tracey), several other cousins, and close friends Carter and Cody Sisson.  He was preceded in death by his sister Daisy Laine Wilds, grandmother Kenna Shull, grandfather Dennis Wilds, grandfather Robert Young and his beloved dog Dusse.

The family will accept visitors Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Samaritan Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. A private burial will follow service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the funeral home to assist with services.
