Joan Fern "Gilliy" Gilliland 73, passed away on December 23, 2025 at Majestic Care of Terre Haute. Gilly was born in Norfolk, Virginia on September 23,1952. She retired from BMG and went on to work in several different nursing homes in Indianapolis and Terre Haute as an Activities Director. Gilly loved to shop, she was always buying the neatest things for her family. She also loved baking and made the absolute best brownies. Gilly loved her family more than anything except for her beloved cats, Luna and Izzy she spoiled them rotten like she did her grandchildren.

Gilly is survived by her wife of 48 years, Jean White. Her son Richard (Rosie) Jeffers. Her grandchildren April Crow and John Jarvis III, great grandchildren Audrey Willis, Rhetta Willis, Zoey Willis and Joshua Lindsey along with her great great grandson Rocky Camp.

Gilly was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Richard Samuel Jeffers, her older brother Thomas Gilliland, her dog Molly and her cat Sly. 

A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at Majestic Care Deming park on Saturday January 3, 2026 in the conference room from 1pm-3pm.
