John Marshall Strahla, 91, of Seelyville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021. He was born January 22, 1930, in Lewis, Indiana. In 1959, he married Erika Strahla, who preceded him in death in April 2017. Also preceding him in death were father Roland Strahla; mother Flossie Kittle Strahla; brothers Arthur, Robert, Carl “Bunk” Bernard; sister Lila Stienstra and infant sister Katherine.
John served his country in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. He belonged to many organizations including the VFW, American Legion, Kerman Grotto, and Outdoor Recreation Club.
John will be remembered as a generous, kind, and giving man. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed all things outdoors including gardening, fishing, and hunting.
John is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Kevin John & Michelle Strahla of Brazil, Indiana; four grandchildren Halee (John) Lindley, Kevin Jacob Strahla, Duke Strahla, and Alexis Strahla; one great-grandchild Kennedy Strahla and one great-grandbaby Lindley to be in April.
