Joe Walden, 82, of Greencastle, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Joe was born in Brazil on September 17, 1943, the son of Ross and Delores (Draper) Walden, and was a 1962 graduate of Reelsville High School.

He served in the United States Army for six years, and was a Vietnam veteran.

Joe retired from National Starch (Ingredion) after 38 years. In his later years he enjoyed working on lawnmowers.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he enjoyed outings with the men's group. He also enjoyed attending the Wednesday evening gospel singing performed by local artist.

Survivors include his wife Marilynn (Dobson) Walden; brothers Larry, Raymond (Karen), Richard (Donna), and sister Kathy Champagne. Several cousins and two very close cousins, Frances Geraldine Wells (Marvin) and Jimmy Draper (Linda).

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Virginia Walden and brother-in-law, Tom Champagne.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 25, from 11-11:30 am at First Baptist Church, Greencastle. A service led by Pastor Tom Blodgett will start at 11:30. Burial will be at a later date.
