Kathie Jean (Chubb) Cox Obituary

Kathie Jean (Chubb) Cox, 70, of Sullivan, IN passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.  She was born to Clarence Chubb and Helen (Carpenter) Chubb on September 10, 1955 in Hymera, IN.  Kathie worked as a Caretaker for special needs children and loved her work. After retiring as a caretaker, her main "job" was taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren, making sure they stayed out of trouble and had everything they needed. She married the love of her life, Calvin Cox, in 1998.

Kathie loved going to yard sales and flea markets – she lovingly called them knicky-knack stores. Her absolute favorite store was Goodwill, and she found one wherever she went.  She also enjoyed playing games on her iPad and playing Euchre.  Most of all, Kathie loved spending time with her family.

Kathie is preceded in death by both of her parents and brother-in-law, Roy Terrell.

Kathie is survived by her loving husband, Calvin; sons, Jason Wade, Eric Wade (Sarah), Tanner Cox, and Jesse Cox; daughter, Autumn Evans (James); brother, Rick Chubb (Brenda); sister, Nancy Terrell; grandchildren, Shianna (Jordy), Tory, Carter, Haven, Carson, Baylee, and Harlan; and great-grandson, Bentley.

Kathie was loved by all and will be missed by many.  Cremation has been entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.samaritanfunerals.com
