Kathryn Marie "Cotton" Smith

Kathryn (Cotton) Marie Smith, 86, passed away July 23, 2021 at Arbor Hospice in Saline MI, with her family by her side. A special thank you to Chelsea and Marva @ Arbor Hospice for the exceptional care for our mom and the family.

She was born on April 8, 1935 to Frank and Rosella Smith in Terre Haute, IN.

She is survived by 3 children, Jack (Debbie) Smith of West Bloomfield MI, Fred (Lisa) Smith of San Marcos CA, Pam (David) Bieganski of Fowlerville MI; 9 Grandchildren, Jack, Heather, Jaymond, Jeremy, Kelly, Amanda, Christopher, James and Ryan; 13 Great Grandchildren, Kaylee, Chloe, Weston, Ashley, Victor, Misaki, Parker, Jackson, Kaitlyn, Natalee, David, Seth and Ethan; 2 sisters and 1 brother, Jeanette, Lucy and Raymond; several nieces, nephews and other beloved family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosella Smith, brothers Frank, Paul, Gene, Jackie, Everett and an infant brother; sisters Ruby and Shirley.

Cotton was a loving Sister, Aunt, Mother, Grandmother and Great- grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed reading, spending time with family, playing rummy with Pam, and talking on the phone with her extended family and friends. Cotton had a special bond with her Great Grandson Ethan, and enjoyed spending time with him. She was a connoisseur of ice cream and dinners at Bob Evans.

Visitation will be Monday, July 26th from 4pm-8pm. The service will be on Tuesday, July 27th at 11:00am at Samaritan Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana followed by burial at Highland Lawn Cemetery also in Terre Haute.
