Kenton Eugene Monroe passed away on December 16, 2024 at the age of 81, surrounded by his wife, children, and family. Kenton was born on June 23, 1943, to Thurman McDean Monroe and Garnett Ruth (Borders) Monroe. He married Cynthia (Dudley) Monroe January 28, 1984.  Kenton is proceeded in death by his parents, and brothers, Jerry Monroe, Thomas Monroe and Raymond Monroe. Surviving siblings include Jan Clark (Holy Clark) Benjamin Monroe (Shirley Monroe) Richard Monroe (Carla Monroe) Linda Smith (Bill Smith) and Julie Post. Kenton was a proud Father to his four children Thomas Monroe (Kathy Monroe), Tammie Santiago, Thurman Monroe (Heather Snyder), Jacquelyn Estelle (Gerald Estelle). He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Kenton grew up and lived a full life in Graysville Indiana. Kenton enjoyed hunting, carpentry, storytelling, canoeing, and gardening, He was an avid bow hunter and knife thrower and was the ultimate outdoorsman. His wood skills and block laying were some of his proudest works. To be a Monroe and have his wife and loved ones around him daily was his greatest joy. Those who met Kenton Monroe never seem to forget him, his stories, their adventures, or his humorous demeanor.

Kenton’s family invites all friends and family to accompany them in celebrating his life. Services will be held Saturday December 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Wabash Valley Community Church in Sullivan, Indiana on Hwy 154.  Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
