Lee Franklin Sand

March 8, 1963 ~ August 8, 2023 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Obituary

Delighted at the adventure life presented, Lee Sand's final adventure ended but the memory of his genuine love of life and generous nature remains for all who knew him.  Lee Franklin Sand, 60 of Terre Haute passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Lee was born March 8, 1963, in Burbank, California to Glen Cady and Eileen Shull Cady Sand.  As he grew up he moved several times, calling Ohio, Florida, California, Arizona, Texas and Indiana home.  Lee's smile, genuine sense of humor and generous nature were the hallmark of his personality.

During high school Lee was active in choir and toured the mid-west performing at bicentennial events.  He was also a member of the debate club and dramatic poetry club.  Following high school he attended college in Pensacola, Florida on a soccer scholarship.

An avid Volkswagen enthusiast, Lee enjoyed collecting VW memorabilia and attending car shows.  In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman and taught one of his niece's the art of fishing.  Lee was confident in the kitchen, enticing guests with his delicious homemade salsa and guacamole and other beautifully displayed creations.

Always with a twinkle in his eyes, Lee would share a joke or funny saying.  He was a great storyteller and had the gift of kindness with his friendly, easy-going manner, leaving smiles wherever he went.

Lee was a dedicated employee during his 20 years at Sony DADC as a printer, before taking early retirement to focus on his health.  Prior to his career at Sony DADC, he worked for Menasco Manufacturing Co. as an expediter on the manufacturing floor, Kinney Shoes and Big Sur Waterbeds & Oak Express in retail sales and management.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 35 years, Jade Sand, multiple extended family, nieces and nephews.

Lee is preceded in death by both parents and his stepfather Roger Sand, sister Carol Hoffman, and two brothers Jerry Hadsell and David Hadsell.
