Lincoln Houser Obituary

Lincoln Houser, 60, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully at Gibson Family Hospice center on January 9, 2025 with family by his side.

Lincoln is survived by his wife Jill Erickson-Houser and his step daughter Amara Erickson, several cousins and so many friends who have become family over the years. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elinor (Harrison) Houser, his grandparents and uncles Lincoln and Bill.

Lincoln (Link) graduated from Dugger Union High School in 1984 and Hobart Institute of Welding Technology the following year.

Lincoln proudly worked for the Terre Haute Parks Dept for the past 17 years. He loved his job and had so many coworkers he called friends.  His job with the Parks Dept had him at the Booker T. Washington Community Center where he really enjoyed seeing all the children as a part of the CASY before and after school and summer program.  He became close with all the staff in the building as he wished all his “buddies” in the building a good day.

Lincoln was a huge sports enthusiast. He loved cheering on his favorite teams - the Chicago Cubs, the Miami Dolphins and the Purdue Boilermakers! He enjoyed going to NHRA races, baseball and hockey games with his friends. Lincoln enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains to spend time with family and relax.

Lincoln always had a smile on his face and was such a happy person! It’s one of the first things that drew his wife Jill to him. His love of laughter and kindness were some of his greatest qualities. Jill and Lincoln were married on Jan 1, 2013, at a New Years Eve party just after midnight among so many of their friends and with their daughter Amara.  It was a love that only grew stronger every day.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Central Christian Church in Terre Haute.  Visitation will be that morning from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Terre Haute Parks Dept or Chances and Services for Youth (CASY) Before and After School program.
