Louise D. (Deffibaugh) Farrar

Louise Deffibaugh Farrar, 110, of Terre Haute, Indiana died Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 10:10 am in Westminster Health Care. She lived her entire life in Terre Haute, most recently at Westminster Village. She was born on January 10, 1909, in Terre Haute, Indiana to George Deffibaugh and Josephine (James) Thomas Deffibaugh, both from Brazil, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her only sister, Irene D. Bowman and her beloved niece, Sister Priscilla (Mary Louise) Grimes, D. C.; half-brothers John and George Thomas. She is survived by cousins Karen Jones (Charles) of Knightsville, Indiana and Patricia Kostyo (Steve) of Terre Haute, Indiana and many friends, including her Daughter of Charity “adopted nieces”. She retired from General Housewares Corp (Columbian Enameling & Stamp Co.) in 1974 after almost 48 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church from 1960-2000 and then a member of Centenary United Methodist Church with membership in the United Methodist Women. Louise enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed travelling, eating out and picnics in Deming Park with church members or Columbian retirees. Visitation will be Saturday February 23, 2019 from 12:00 until 2:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. with funeral services at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Mel Camp officiating,  Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park.
