Manuel Douglas Akers, 81, passed away on Monday, May 9 2022 at Majestic Care Deming Park. He was born on May 19, 1940 to Eugene and Rosa May Akers. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sister as well a grandson. He is survived by his wife Brenda Akers; children Manuel Akers Jr., Franklin Eugene Akers, and Eunice Mae Bryan; 6 grandchildren Brenda Lee Hinnshaw, Bradley Franklin Paul, Alyssa Moudy, Keaton Akers, and Ashlee Akers; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Manuel was a self-employed masonry contractor. He served his country in the United States Army from 1958 – 1962. He married his wife Brenda in 1962.
