Marilyn F. Lutz, 70, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born September 1, 1954, in Terre Haute to Claude and Flora Harmon. Marilyn was married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Lutz for 51 years. They enjoyed raising their boys, fishing, playing cards, hosting friends and family for holidays and celebrations.
Marilyn was the most giving, selfless, and amazing woman. She loved animals and was always concerned for strays and lost pets. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved to spoil them and teach them how to bake. There wasn’t a better baker around. She loved to feed everyone. It truly gave her happiness to make others smile. Marilyn loved antiques and going to yard sales with her friends.
She is survived by her husband Dick Lutz, sons Ian Lutz (Michelle) of Terre Haute and Grant Lutz (Mary) of Lafayette, granddaughter Carson Lutz, grandsons Cage Lutz and Freight Lutz, sister Sharon Strain (Jack) of Prairie Creek, her beloved dog Whiskey and cat Tiger Lilly, several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful close friends that are like family. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Carolyn Rexroat, and sister Donna Batson.
Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance of Marilyn may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society. Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
