Mark Chubb Obituary

Mark Allen Chubb passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2021, at Southwood Nursing Facility, Terre Haute, IN.
Mark was born to Roy and Elaine Chubb in Sullivan, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Elaine; and sisters, Sharon and Becky.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Amanda Morgan, New York; sisters, Kathy Cooper, Indiana, and Lee Ann Crockett, Arizona; brothers, Bob, Arizona; Steve, Tennessee, and John, Tennessee; and also, many nieces and nephews; his favorite nephew, Ryan Soughers, who could make him laugh that it would be infectious; and his best friend. Pat Love of 57 years.
Mark attended Wiley High School, and then joined the Air Force where he was stationed as a firefighter.
Mark was an avid musician and taught himself to play bass guitar at a very early age. His band "Indiana" traveled all over Indiana and surrounding states.
He was a huge Beatles fan and knew every song. He would spend his days listening to music. When the Beatles became big, Mark became their favorite fan and had every record and could sing every song up until the time he became ill.
Andy Griffith was his favorite TV show and he would watch for hours at a time, and was disappointed when the time changed, and messed up his schedule.
Mark often played his guitar for the residents at Southwood, sometimes in the lounge at Christmas. Other times, private performances in his room with residents just passing by to hear him play.
Mark, when living alone, had a cat named Larry Joe - he loved him better than anything in this world.
Cremation is being handled by DeBaun/Samaritan. No service is planned at this time due to the pandemic.
Special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, especially to Jamie, Craig, and Chaplin Ken. Also to Kathy and Connie at Southwood Nursing Facility for their excellent care.
His love of music and laughter will be missed forever.
