Mark Alan Fouts Obituary

Mark Alan Fouts, 73, passed away on May 5, 2025. He was born on April 6, 1952, in Peru, IN to Richard and Marilyn Fouts. Mark was known as being the ultimate wheeler-dealer in the wholesale industry. Mark was very active through the years, including working as a volunteer fireman for the Burnett Fire Department, as well as a licensed real estate agent and broker. Mark was also a district trainer for Burger Chef, and he was very proud to be a volunteer and manager of one of the shelters that was put up by Red Cross during Hurricane Katrina. Mark was also the owner of Mama’s Pizza in Riley, IN.


He loved to run and travel, and he was a huge fan and avid listener of the Beatles. Mark enjoyed going to concerts as well.


He is survived by his wife Mary Fouts, children Mark Fouts Jr. (Kristen), Maria Straub (Dean), and Matthew Fouts (Carina); siblings Beth Fouts and Richard Fouts (Evelyn), 11 grandchildren, lifelong family friend Susann Shanks, Caregiver Kimberlie Ake, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.


He is preceded in death by both his parents and twin sons.


A visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 5 pm to 8 pm at Samaritan Funeral Home (located at 2425 Wabash Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47807). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:30 am at Center United Brethren Cemetery, formerly known as Fouts Graveyard (located at 1475 E 1125 S, Galveston, IN 46932). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Indiana Special Olympics or the American Regulators USA (disaster-relief nonprofit).
