Mary Jeanette (Vickers) Rickard

Mary Jeanette Vickers Rickard, 73, of Graysville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 26, 2021, in her home surrounded by her husband and three children.

Mary was born on September 20, 1947, to Raymond A Vickers and Mabel G (Pinkston) Vickers. On March 4, 1967, she married Gerald (Sheebs) Wayne Rickard and they had three children; Kassie (Chris) Cruse of Graysville, Indiana; Kristal (Michael) Barnes of Spring Hill, Florida; and Kyle Rickard of Graysville, Indiana. She also enjoyed her grandchildren: Kristan Amstutz, Brandon Amstutz, Miranda Barnes, and Jaydyn Rickard as well as her two great grandsons: Zane Rickard and Steven Jones, Jr.

She pursued her dream later in life to become a nurse. She worked at Regional Hospital for 30 years, touching many lives doing what she loved. She was a mentor to those she worked with as well as to her family, to be the best at who God made us to be. She also wrote poetry, songs, books, did photography, and played the piano. Her talents were as endless as her love for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers: Jack, Doyle, and Bill Vickers.

Cremation is planned with a Celebration of life to be held at a later time. In leu of flowers, please send a donation in Mary’s name to SouthernCare Hospice.
